A few words from ‘Amour’ director Michael Haneke

Not to be confused with the Judd Apatow movie

Opening in limited release today: Michael Haneke's AMOUR, winner of the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

“I think you feel violence in the exact measure that you don’t show it.

“And I also think you sense beauty and grace, or what you will, in the way you avoid showing it. It only exists in — in this case, you could say there’s a metaphysical side. If you try to show beauty, it immediately becomes a lie.”

in an interview on the DVD of
71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (1994).
